Rachel London, Esq.

Rachel leads the Council. She manages the staff and oversees all of the Council’s work.  Rachel leads the development of the Council’s State Plan. She makes sure action is taken to reach the Council’s goals included in the State Plan. Rachel represents the Council with Congress, the state legislature, governor’s office, and state agencies. She is the lead advocate on child care, education, housing, and the Developmental Disabilities Administration.

 

Christy Russell

Christy manages the Council’s daily operations. This includes administrative support to Council members and staff. Christy manages the Council’s budget and other financial activities. Her responsibilities include coordinating the development of the Council’s State Plan. She manages the Council’s communications and membership activities. Christy supervises the Director of Grants & Information Management and the Administrative Coordinator.

 

Anastasia Collins

Anastasia oversees the Council’s grant activities. She works with the Council to develop project ideas and helps the Council select who receives funding. She also provides support to grantees to help them be successful. Anastasia is also responsible for reporting to the Council and the federal government about the Council’s progress on our State Plan goals.

 

Shawan Pearson

Shawan provides overall office management and administrative support, including assisting the deputy director with fiscal duties. She serves as the main point of contact for inquiries, responding to requests for information, referrals, and Council publications. She also coordinates meeting logistics and Council member support.

Director of Policy and Initiatives
The Director of Policy and initiatives serves on the Council’s policy and advocacy team with the executive director. They work with the state legislature, state agencies, and other advocates to bring about change. They are the lead on family support issues, employment, leadership development, and self-advocacy. The Director of Policy and Initiatives also supports the Council’s activities to reach racially and ethnically diverse people and organizations.
