Legislative Reports
The Council educates legislators about how new laws they are considering will affect people with developmental disabilities and their families. The new laws legislators consider passing are called bills. We advocate for bills that will improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families.
The Council worked on a lot of issues during the 2026 legislative session. We, along with our partners in the DD Coalition and advocates from across the state, worked to reduce the impact of DDA budget cuts. In addition to our budget advocacy, we worked on many bills during the legislative session. We supported bills on education, services and supports, housing, voting rights, transportation, and more. Learn more in our legislative overview.
During the session, the Council tracked 134 bills and took action on 77 of them. All of the bills we supported will create change and improve lives for people with DD and their families. See the full lists of bills in our final legislative reports below.
